The Visit to Old State House
This Friday our team went to Massachusetts State House for the 5th trip. The Old State House is the oldest surviving public building in Boston which was built in 1713. It is located near the Black Bay so we took the orange line and got off at downtown crossing. The Old State House is a unique building with a gilded dome. Here I have found many exhibitions about American Revolution or some essential events in American history and policy. According to our guide, the old state house is the place where declaration of dependence was first read here. In the central of the second floor is the Doric Hall. The name Doric Hall comes from its architectural style of its ten columns. In this room I have found a portrait of Lincoln who is the greatest president in my mind. There is one thing that impressed me most is the Council Chamber of Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court. It is a grand room that I can even image the picture of an election was holding here.
It is a great experience for me to see so many interesting historical items and a good opportunity to know more about American history.
