HARVARD TRIP

July 17, 2010
Claire/Shen Mengjie
Harvard University
This Friday we went to Harvard University to contain our trip. It is an amazing college in the world with top students, advance technology and outstanding professors.
First we visited the Harvard yard that has the many dorms for freshman. All the building in the yard looks very old which I seen in the movies that made me feel serious. Trees in the yard are tall enough to shelter from sunshine. Then we went to the since center and we stand outside the building listened to the tour guild’s speech who is a second year student in Harvard.
Next place, like a small church but is not a real church, actually is a memorial hall. There are hundreds of thousand names on the wall those are people who are famous in Civil War and Second World War and studied in Harvard. In the hall, there is not natural light because the windows are the marigold windows that have beautiful colors and patterns in the windows. The lights on the ceiling are extreme grace like lady.
After that, we go back to the yard to see the library. White building with many steps in the front and some column in the end of the steps. The most interesting thing for the library is the floors. The floors are not expanding to the up but underground. You can not image how many books in it, only to see the outside.
I am looking forwards the next trip to MIT.
