BLOG 7 Harvard University--Susie

This Friday, we went to visit the famous Ivy League college---Harvard University. The weather was very hot at that day. We took the orange line to downtown crossing and then changed to the red line and got off at Harvard Square station.

We were divided in to 2 groups and I was in team 1. A Harvard student who is major in history was our tour guide and he led us walk around the whole campus. He introduced the history of Harvard University to all of us. He was pretty humorous and we had great fun in his concise presentation about Harvard. We can tell that he is very proud to be a Harvard student from his look on his face.

Through the visit, I discovered that there are plenty of differences between Northeastern University and Harvard University. Firstly, the class buildings and dorms in NEU are new and modern. However, the buildings in Harvard are relatively old. Secondly, I think the school cafeteria in NEU is better than that in Harvard. The atmosphere in NEU’s canteen is more relaxed than in Harvard. To me, the furniture and settings of Harvard’s canteen are more like a library! They are too organized and serious.

In my opinion, Harvard University is not just a university but also represents the educational history of the United States of America since it is the oldest institution of higher learning in the US. Harvard is one of the best colleges in the US and every American is proud of it.
