Today we go to the Massachusetts State House. The State House is close to the summit of south side of Beacon Hill. It is overlooking Boston Common and the Back Bay. This is the new State House and it is design by Charles Bulfinch who was a public-minded citizen and had a served Boston as a selectman. I think this building is very big and beautiful. The building covered 6.7 acres and it si about two city blocks. It is faces south and has a good sunshine. It red brick walls and white pillars and trim are very special. The golden dome is favorite part. It is very lovely. It can catch the sun in every season.
There was a beauty girl who explains the State House to us. She showed us every where and told us the use of the house and the stories of the places. In the second floor, it has the State House Model show us the hold building. Then we visited the Doric Hall, Nurses Hall, Memorial Hall, and the Great hall, House of Representatives, Senate Reception Room, and Senate Chamber. It is a pity that we can not visit the Executive Offices because they are decoration. The thing which gave me a deep impression is the ceiling of the Nurses Hall. How beautiful it is! I just like stayed in the King’s house. It is art and elegant.
I had a good time in the State House. If you come, don’t forget to take the introduction book, and you will know more history of this lovely building.
